Overview

This blog will provide some information to families on selecting a High School.

Families use a variety of criteria in deciding on a particular High School, such as:

School Culture - a focus on a positive environment and relationships.

Socio-Economic Status - a focus on parent background.

Curriculum - a focus on interesting and useful courses.

Year 12 Results & Value Adding - a focus on academic performance.

NAPLAN results - a focus on academic ability in junior years.

Accelerated Learning and Select Entry Schools - a focus on gifted and talented students.

Special Programs - a focus on individualized programs.

VET Courses - a focus on practical skills.

Uniform - a focus on discipline?

Other factors - transition, pastoral care, language, wellbeing, etc
